The Staples: Some of My Go-To Natural Hair Products…

It may be safe to say I’ve made it passed the Product Junkie phase. Kinda. I have a better understanding of what works for my hair, but of course I like to try some new stuff every now and then to see if it’s worth adding to the collection. Check out what’s in my stash… so far.

Shampoo & Conditioner/Deep Conditioner:

Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo & Conditioner

What made me try this brand was the price. In stores this shampoo and conditioner are around $2.99 – $3.99. Most people consider this a dupe to the Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Threat Invigorating Shampoo.Β The downside is if you’re not near a Trader Joe’s, it’s hard to find and way more expensive online.

Shea Moisture African Black Soap Dandruff Control ShampooΒ

Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque

I do suffer from dry and itchy scalp at times, so the African Black soap is a top choice. But, Honestly any Shea Moisture shampoo works for me.

Out of all of Shea Moisture’s masques I’ve tried so far, the Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment has yet to let me down.

Aunt Jackie’s in control “Anti-Poof” Moisturizing & Softening Conditioner

Aussie Moist Conditioner

The Aunt Jackie’s and Aussie Conditioner are inexpensive. So, I can use an ample amount of each product to saturate my hair and make it easier to detangle. They also have great slip.

Organix Keratin Oil 3 Minute Miraculous Recovery

Slip. Slip. … and More Slip.

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted & Color Me HappyΒ

This is another pair that is inexpensive, smells great, and I can use as much as I want for great slip. Totally Twisted helps to keep the frizz down and Color Me Happy is all in the name. It’s meant for color-treated hair, but I still use it to detangle.

Curly Kids Mixed Hair Haircare Super Detangling Shampoo

This shampoo is extremely moisturizing. It’s almost as if I don’t even need the conditioner.

The tangles seem to vanish as soon as I apply it.

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shampoo & Conditioner

It smells wonderful and leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean, but not stripped.

Kurlee Belle Almond & Shea Butter Moisturizing Shampoo

This is another shampoo that seems to work well before I even add the conditioner.

It moisturizes and easily detangles.

Olive Oil

I use olive oil to assist in detangling and deep conditioning. The ultimate slip.

NuNaat Brazilian Keratin Intensive Hair Mask

Another One. *DJ Khaled Voice* Slip. Slip. … and More Slip!

Leave-in Conditioner:

African Pride Olive Miracle Leave-in Conditioner

It doesn’t flake. This is definitely the ‘C’ in my LCO Method.

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Moisture & Shine Leave-in Conditioner

Creme of Nature Perfect 7, 7 N 1 Leave-in Hair Treatment

They each have a lovely scent and are perfect for refreshing my curls.

Oil & Styler:

Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel

Jamaican Mango & Lime Coiling Creme Pudding

Neither the Eco Styler Gel or the Coiling Creme Pudding flake and they each leave great definition.

Jamaican Mango & Lime Island Oil

Kurlee Belle Tropical Oils Blend

The Island oil and Tropical oils blend are ideal for the LCO or LOC Method.

This is what I’m working with as of right now.
